The Obama Administration and Student Loans…Trying to Buy Votes With YOUR Money?
I’m sure you are well aware the President gives a weekly address to the nation.
This weeks theme is all about student loans and limiting the interest rate charged for them.
Here is the White House video of the Weekly address given on 21 April, 2012, by President Barack Obama (the transcript is further down the page, after a little commentary from me.
I’ll admit that I’ve not kept up on his claim that the interest rate will double if Congress doesn’t stop it. No, unlike most people today, I paid cash for the classes I needed and wanted. No loans, no government assistance, yes, the entire time I have taken classes, I was also working…remember, I was paying cash for what I wanted and needed. The interest rate charged on Student Loans just was not a big deal for me, so I didn’t (and still don’t) keep up with it. (more…)
Did Ted Kennedy Really Save America?
Yes, you read that right, Did Ted Kennedy really save America…by passing away when he did?
In a newly released video by Wayne Root, he makes a well thought out argument that the day Ted Kennedy passed away was the high point and the beginning of the demise for the Obama administration and his cronies in Congress. It was the end of their “gravy train.” They had no more 60th vote in the Senate, so from now on, they needed help to pass anything. All of a sudden it should have become very obvious to the Obama administration the Karma really can be a bitch! (more…)
Dirty Harry and His Threats
Did you hear about Harry Reid’s threat to the GOP in the House and the Senate? No? Well, here it is. Straight from the horses mouth.

Ron Paul or a Wheelbarrow…which do YOU choose?
Hi again and today I would like to point out an article over at PersonalLiberty.com by John Myers concerning probably the most compelling reason to take Ron Paul seriously.
The article is titled “Your Choice: Ron Paul or a Wheelbarrow.” In it, John talks about our nations debt, and what happens when there is too much debt on a national level.
In Mr. Myers article he includes a very telling chart, straight from the Federal Reserve showing the U.S. base money supply since 1910, it’s acceleration in size starting in the mid 1970′s and it’s explosion in size since 2010. And boy, oh boy, has the base money supply really exploded under Obama! (more…)
Jobs Speech on the Day After the Jobs Speech
President Obama today said that he is “an eternal optimist” who believes in America, and in our democracy and that Congress will do the right thing, and pass the American Jobs Act,” in a speech to students and staff at the University of Richmond the day after he addressed a joint meeting of Congress. “The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the Constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first.“ Thomas Jefferson
With all the debate these days about the debt limit and the “up and down” or the “clean” vote last night (01 June 2011) I thought this quote was quite relevant. Congress overwhelmingly voted to NOT increase the debt ceiling without mandating spending cuts.
One of the things the founding fathers was very serious about was keeping the nation from going into debt…and if debt was necessary, they wanted it paid off as soon as possible!
The founding fathers expected this nation to promote Liberty, Freedom and Prosperity (for the individual) above all else. They knew that if all people had Liberty, the nation had it’s Freedom and all individuals had the ability to Prosper, then the nation would prosper also, both in money and in reputation.
Debt Limit Reached, Obama’s Spending on Hold?
Well, it’s finally happened. The Congressionally authorized debt limit for the U.S. has been reached today! How long can we keep the flag flying proudly when the country is in this severe of a predicament? What will Americas Next President do about the National Debt? (more…)
