Thomas Jefferson Said…
“…I know nothing more important to inculcate into the minds of young people than the wisdom, the honor, and the blessed comfort of living within their income…”
In other words, the most important part of life is to live within your means! If you want to improve your lifestyle, first increase your income, then enjoy your new lifestyle.
This is part of a much larger speech he gave at the time, but it sums up his, and most of America’s founding fathers beliefs, that the worst thing our nation could do was to go into debt and saddle those not responsible for that debt, with that debt.
They knew that for a nation, deficit spending was even easier than it is for an individual. And, that kind of spending ALWAYS has to be repaid!
Who repays it?
Republican Debate in Greenville, South Carolina
Hi,
Good to see you’ve come back…thank you!
In the spirit of America’s Next President, I was just wondering if you watched the Republican debate (either live or taped) from Greenville, South Carolina?.
The combatants were Ron Paul, Gary Johnson, Tim Pawlenty, Rick Santorum and Herman Cain.
If you did watch it, please sign in and let us know what your thoughts are.
Some of my thoughts are as follows;
Herman Cain made big gains in all areas of his campaign. The focus group with Frank Luntz sure thought so too! I thought the line of the night belonged to Cain when he said that “I’m proud of the fact that I’ve never held public office. All those politicians in Washington have held public office before they got to the capital and How’s That Working Out for YOU?”, (I don’t have the quote in front of me, so please excuse if I’ve paraphrased just a bit!). (more…)
Welcome to America’s Next President.com!
Welcome to America’s Next President.com.
On this site we’ll explore who might run, who you think should run and why that person should seek to be America’s next president in 2012.
Who do you think is the most qualified and what qualifications do you think matter the most?
What do you want the President to focus his or her attention on?
What part of American life is most important to you?
What are you most interested in?
Is it Health Care, Jobs, the Economy, Personal Freedom, the Cost of Living in America, Having the Government do more or less? What about immigration? Don’t be hesitant to let us know!
What party do you favor (Democrats, Republicans, Tea Party, Libertarian, Greens, etc…) and why?
At this point there are plenty of questions and even more answers than most of us can imagine.
Why don’t you leave a comment below and we’ll get the discussion started right now! I’m sure that between all of us, we should be able to work out all the issues and make a decision about who America’s Next President should be!
We’ll talk soon,
Stan
