Portrait of Thomas Jefferson painted in 1800 by Rembrandt Peale
On March 04, 1801 Thomas Jefferson gave the first of his Presidential Inaugural addresses.
After listing some of the items the federal government is responsible for, then he asks, "With all these blessings, what more is necessary to make us a happy and a prosperous people?"
He then answers that question with "Still one thing more, fellow-citizens--a wise and frugal government, which shall restrain men from injuring one anot [...]
Obama giving a speech, while attempting to raise his poll numbers
On Friday, October 07 2011, the new Gallup poll came out showing President Obama slipping in the polls over at Gallup again. This one shows he's at a all time low of of only 38% of those surveyed saying they are approving of Mr. Obama's job performance.
When broken down by party, he did fairly well among democratic voters with a 77% approval and with republicans he came in at a whopping 11%. The real big change is fr [...]
Herman Cain is smiling because he is the man with a plan!
It is impossible for the media to ignore Herman Cain Any Longer!
After 3 consecutive straw poll wins (2 of them were blowouts!) and a viable plan to both raise revenue and cut our tax rates, Herman Cain is creating quite a problem for the mainstream media these days!
Have you given any consideration to Mr. Cain's tax and revenue plan? He calls it the 999 plan. "What does 999 stand for?", you may be asking yourself.
The p [...]
In the New Your Times online edition, yesterday (01 Oct, 2011) "Seeking Taxes, Romney Went After Business" (by Michael Barbaro) appeared, highlighting some of the ways Governor Romney's administration went about closing deficits in the Massachusetts state budget.
The basis of the article is that Romney went after "loopholes" that businesses in the state enjoyed and both Romney and most of the Democrats claimed was not right and not fair. To me, this points out one of the greatest issues wit [...]
Gandhi and Nehru together in 1929
"Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes." - Mahatma Gandhi
When you combine this idea with George Washington's warning against putting party before country, well it's not too hard to see that as a nation, the United States has veered dramatically from the course our founding father's set for the it.
They created a nice plan, including rules to run the government with, and the people we have elected, or allowe [...]
Hi and welcome back today!
Should a person running for President of the U. S. be REQUIRED to PROVE who they are and that they indeed do meet the birth criteria before allowing their name on the ballot? What about the 2012 presidential election and Americas Next President?
Do you remember the Obama birth certificate issue? Sure you do. They (Obama's people) were doing everything in their power to keep anyone from seeing an actual birth certificate for Mr. Obama, until Donald Trump g [...]
President Obama today said that he is "an eternal optimist" who believes in America, and in our democracy and that Congress will do the right thing, and pass the American Jobs Act," in a speech to students and staff at the University of Richmond the day after he addressed a joint meeting of Congress. Obama giving a weekly speech in May of 2011
Have you noticed our current President (Barack Obama) seems to think nearly everything can be fixed with a speech? No real details given, just some fairly general speech about what the overall picture should be or what he want's in general.
Well, one only needs to go (once again) to the founding fathers of this country to find something that addresses this phenomenon. This gem by Ben Franklin says it perfectly. "Wise men talk because they h [...]
A couple of fine examples of political games have been seen in the last week.
Last week, President Obama decided that he should give his newest "jobs" speech on Wednesday, 07 Sept., 2011 to a joint house of Congress. "Yeah, so?" you thought to yourself. "What's so important about that date?" (more…) [...]

Here is a quick question for you.
Timothy Geithner and Barack Obama discuss things just hours before the Credit Downgrade
What U.S. President was in office when the United States credit rating was downgraded for the first time in history?
The answer is our current president! That's right, during the evening of 05 August, 2011, Standard & Poor's downgraded the U.S. credit rating from AAA to AA+.
This is what happens when you keep spending dramatically more money than you bring i [...]
Portrait of Thomas Jefferson painted in 1800 by Rembrandt Peale
"...I know nothing more important to inculcate into the minds of young people than the wisdom, the honor, and the blessed comfort of living within their income..."
In other words, the most important part of life is to live within your means! If you want to improve your lifestyle, first increase your income, then enjoy your new lifestyle.
This is part of a much larger speech he gave at the time, but it sums up his, and mos [...]
Hi and Welcome back!
The race starts here
I wanted to ask you a question today.
"Ok, what is it that you want to ask?", I hear you saying to yourself.
The question is, What do you think of the current field of Presidential candidates?
Are you pretty excited about any of the folks that have declared "I would like to be President of the United States!"
There have already been a fair amount of people declare that they are in it to win it.
The Thomas Jefferson Memorial Statue in Washington, D.C.
"The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the Constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first." Thomas Jefferson
With all the debate these days about the debt limit and the "up and down" or the "clean" vote last night (01 June 2011) I thought this quote was quite relevant. Congress overwhelmingly voted to NOT increase the debt ce [...]
Well, it's finally happened. The Congressionally authorized debt limit for the U.S. has been reached today! How long can we keep the flag flying proudly when the country is in this severe of a predicament? What will Americas Next President do about the National Debt? (more…) [...]
